As well as being a great place to walk and explore the beautiful countryside, or to just sit, unwind and relax, the Cotswolds has numerous events and venues to visit all year round. The Seagrave Arms is ideally located to explore the area and we list below some of our favourite places, and things to do:
Hidcote House & Gardens - a National Trust treasure, beautiful house and stunning gardens just 5 minutes by car from us. For more information:
Stratford upon Avon - The Theatre is due to reopen in 2010 after a major refit - the only place to watch Shakespeare!
20 minutes drive. For more information:
Cheltenham - Regency splendour, superb shopping and home to the National Hunt Festival every March (also has a great Jazz Festival!) 20 minutes drive. For more information:
Broadway - one of the Cotswolds most picturesque villages with some quality art galleries and just 5 mins drive away.
Snowshill Lavender - As well as another National Trust house and garden the village is surrounded by lavender fields - beautiful in late Summer. 10 minutes drive.
Longborough Opera - Summer opera season in the grounds of Longborough House - we are happy to provide a picnic and some chilled Champagne! 15 minutes drive.
Fans of Equestrian sport are particularly well catered for in the Cotswolds. As well as the famous Cheltenham National Hunt Festival there are regular race meetings at Stratford and Warwick. The Easter Point to Point at Paxford (15 mins drive) is a great day out - again a picnic hamper lunch can be provided.
Slightly further afield there are 3-day events at both Badminton House and Blenhiem Palace (both 45 minutes drive approx) whilst Polo enthusiasts can rub shoulders with the Royals at Beaufort Polo Club, Tetbury or at Cirencester Park.
The Cotswolds also hosts two great airshows - The Royal Tattoo at Fairford every July and the Cotswold Airshow at Kemble.
We can also recommend some great Farm Shops and Antique Emporiums all within easy reach of the Inn.
